What We Look For

Requirements to Become an Instructor

We don't require a formal teaching certificate or a university degree to teach on Learnovo. What we care about is real-world expertise, the ability to explain things clearly, and a genuine commitment to student success.

If you've been working in your field professionally for at least 1 year and you can prove it with a portfolio, case studies, or work experience — we want to hear from you.

You Must Have

Proven expertise in your field
At least 1 year of professional experience, supported by a portfolio, GitHub, past work, or testimonials
A clear course idea or mentorship focus
Know what you want to teach, who it's for, and what students will be able to do after completing it
Basic recording setup
A laptop or smartphone, a quiet space, and a reasonable microphone (even a phone earpiece works for starters)
Commitment to quality and students
Willingness to respond to student questions, update course content when needed, and maintain a high rating

Questions Before You Apply

Instructor payouts are processed on the last working day of every month, directly to your Nigerian bank account. You'll receive a breakdown showing total enrolments, revenue generated, and your 70% share. There's a minimum payout threshold of ₦5,000.
We require a minimum of 720p video quality and clear, audible audio. You don't need a professional camera — most modern smartphones shoot excellent video. What we won't accept is blurry footage, background noise that distracts from the lesson, or poor lighting. We provide a recording checklist to all approved instructors.
Yes. Having multiple courses on the same topic is actually good for students — it gives them options based on teaching style. However, your course needs to bring something distinct: a different approach, a more practical angle, or a deeper focus on a specific sub-topic. We'll discuss this during your screening call.
Yes. You retain full intellectual property ownership of your course content. By publishing on Learnovo, you grant us a licence to host and distribute your course on our platform. You can also sell your content elsewhere, as long as it's not exclusively licensed to another competitor platform. Full details are in our instructor agreement.
If your application doesn't meet our current requirements, we'll let you know what's missing and give you specific feedback on what to strengthen. Many of our current top instructors were rejected on their first application and came back stronger 3–6 months later. We never reject without explanation.
Yes, within our pricing guidelines. Course prices must fall within our acceptable range (currently ₦5,000 minimum, no maximum). We'll advise you on optimal pricing based on course length, topic, and comparable courses on the platform. For mentorship sessions, you set your own hourly rate — we only ask that it's at least ₦10,000 per session.
